CCS Catholic Schools Week - January 31-February 5, 2010)

 

Catholic Schools Week is an annual national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing a values-added education for America's young people. Catholic schools are proud of their educational network that emphasizes intellectual, spiritual, moral, physical, and social values in their students.  Catholic Schools Week is a key part of the yearlong National Marketing Campaign For Catholic Schools.
 

CCS celebrated Catholic Schools Week last January 25th, 2010 - February 5th, 2010 with various activities for the children.

  •  Tuesday, February 2nd

  • Living History Museum - Gr.3-4 dressed-up and posed as famous people from the history of Pennsylvania. The students recited information about the historical people that they were representing when visitors activate their buttons.
  • Teddy Bear and Pajama Day - Primary Campus - The children enjoyed wearing their pajamas to school and playing with their teddy bears. They gathered up at the lunch room for a Circle Time with Sister Regina and Miss Perez. They had milk and cookies for snack.

  • Winter Olympics Day - Primary Campus
  • Haiti Slideshow Presentation - Sister Catherine Gerald -  CCS students raised money for Haiti earthquake victims. Sister Catherine took a trip to Haiti and delivered the donation. She showed the children pictures from her trip and discussed how the money they donated helped the earthquake victims.
  • Thursday, February 4th

  • Talent Show ( All Grades) - CCS hosted their first ever Talent Show.  The 8th grade students and their teacher, Mrs. Gehman, organized the event.
  • Professor Freeze Magic Show - Primary Campus - Mr. Tom McDonell amazed the children with his magical experiments with snow, ice, penguins and polar bears.
