Extracurricular Activities

BAND
CCS students from the 4th through 8th grades are invited to join the CCS Band. Students are instructed on their instruments by a band teacher from Northeastern Music Company. They may choose instruments from the brass, woodwind or percussion families of instruments. Lessons are given on a weekly basis. Band students participate in the CCS Advent/Nativity Celebration, a winter concert, and join with the CCS Chorus for a spring concert.

CHORUS
Children in the 3rd through 8th grades are invited to join the CCS Chorus. The Chorus sings at the annual CCS Advent/Nativity Celebration, in a spring concert with the CCS Band, and has participated in evenings of prayer and song at churches in the Conshohocken area.

READING OLYMPICS
Students in grades 4, 5, and 6 participate in the Montgomery County Reading Olympics. The children enjoy this reading competition event. This is a great way to encourage our students to read and help them appreciate the joy of reading!

MATHLETES
Students in Grades 7 and 8 participate annually in the IHM Math Competition.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Students in Grades 5-8 can participate in student government. The children lead service projects to help those in need. They also organize fun activities for the student body including, dress down days, contests, bake sales, and Angel necklaces.

AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
Programs taught by professionals and parents on a variety of subjects based on instructor availability. In the past some topics have included cooking, calligraphy, card making, and photography.

CHESS CLUB
Students in Grades 3 through 8 may participate in the chess club. The chess club provides a low key fun environment in which to learn and play the game of chess.
