Honors Math

Students in the Honors Math Program are challenged to achieve mathematic excellence at an accelerated pace.  At CCS, students are eligible to be admitted into the program in Grade 4 or Grade 5.  The main objective of the Honors Math Program at CCS is to understand the relationship between mathematics and the real world.  Mathematics is integrated with other academic disciplines highlighting technology.

Teaching at Conshohocken Catholic School has been a delightful and enriching experience.  I teach Honors Math to students in grades 4-8.  In addition, once a week I instruct students in the Science lab for a hands-on experience with concepts taught by their lead 2nd - 5th grade teacher.

I have acquired a Level II Instructional Certificate and a Middle School Math Certificate.  I have a B.S. in Science, a Masters in Education and a Masters in Child Development.  I value education as a student and as a teacher.

My classroom goals focus on real-world applications of Mathematics and Science.  My math students are challenged to make concrete connections between their world, the world around them, and the world of mathematics.  To accomplish this objective the students are encouraged to research, organize, calculate, and analyze data.  In addition, the students are challenged to employ various mathematical tools and software.

The Conshohocken Catholic community reflects the ideals of the Catholic Church.  The strong faith and compassion of the school leaders can be witnessed in the disposition of the CCS student.  The students are nurtured and respected.  The fine faculty strives to challenge each student to reach his or her greatest potential in his or her avenue of choice.
