Pre-K 3A
Hello! My name is Michelle Borkowski and I am the coordinator for the Primary Campus at Conshohocken Catholic School. Our Primary Campus houses a Kindergarten class, two Pre-K 4 year old classes, and two Pre-K 3 year old classes. I also teach one of the Pre-K three year old classrooms. My job is challenging, but very rewarding. It is my great pleasure to see three year olds come to school unsure and anxious in September, and watch them as they grow and develop into very confident and capable beings come May!
I have a degree in Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College, but all of my experience has been at the Early Childhood level. I always joke that I started out teaching Kindergarten and worked my way down! I have been teaching for 23 years. Nothing gives me more joy than coming to work every Monday morning and being greeted by my young students, other students in the building, my colleagues, and parents past and present. At Conshohocken Catholic there is a definite sense of community and a familiarity that even the smallest of our children can sense.

Our main goal is to give pre-schoolers a positive first year experience. They need to feel nurtured, comfortable and safe. A welcoming classroom as well as a friendly demeanor helps each child adjust to their new environment and being away from mom and dad for the first time. Here at Conshohocken Catholic School we believe in Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) which means we only teach the skills that are appropriate for each particular age level. Some of the skills we focus on at the three year old level include social growth and interaction, expressing feelings appropriately, as well as readiness skills which prepare students for learning their letters and numbers. Additionally, self help skills are highly encouraged. Learning to zip up your coat and pack up your own schoolbag are steps toward becoming an independent pre-schooler. Finally, and most importantly, every child is viewed as a special gift from God, treated with respect and expected to treat others in the same manner. It is my privilege to be a teacher here at Conshohocken Catholic School. I feel so blessed to play such an important role in the growth and development of all our little ones!
