Pre-K 4 A
Hi, My name is Debbie Martelon, I teach the Prek 4 class. Some people wake up each day dreading the idea of going to work- NOT ME- I truly love what I do and have fun doing it. Especially here at CCS.
I have been teaching preschool for 18 years-the last 12 have been here at CCS. I attended St. Mary of the Assumption grade school, John W. Hallahan Highschool and I received my AS Degree in Early Childhood Education from CCP and attended West Chester University, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Child Psychology. I began my teaching career at a Private Preschool/Kindergarten in Society Hill, PA where I worked for the 8 years before coming to CCS.
I was born and raised in Roxborough where I still live with my husband and 3 children.

I believe that each child is a unique individual and that we should embrace our differences. I beleive that each child learns at his or her own pace and in his or her own way. It is my job to figure all that, so that each child can reach their full potential and succeed in school. For many children this is their first experience in school and I want to ensure that they enjoy it and develop a love for learning.

Prek 4 is a time for the Three R's (Readiness, Respect and Responsibility) This is a year of readiness Every little bit of knowledge helps your children to become the person they are striving to be. Every child will leave PreK 4 having grown and changed in their own way and at their own pace. My goal is give your children a strong foundation for future learning and a strong beginning in discovering their faith. Most importantly each child will finish PreK 4 knowing that they are a unique, special and capable little person who should be proud of all their accomplishments not matter how great or small.
The other two R's we strive to teach and maintain in our classroom are respect and responsibility. We beleive that the children should respect the people around them and the things in our classroom. I teach the children to respect other peoples ideas, thoughts and words. I beleive that the children need to learn to take responsibility for themselves,
their belongings and their actions.
